Why moor at Tattenhall this winter?
As the nights start to set in and the days become shorter, you may start to consider where to moor this winter.
Look no further than Tattenhall Marina where a winter mooring, provides a safe and secure place to shelter over the colder months.
Situated in the heart of rural Cheshire and occupying a stunning location just 9 miles from the historic city of Chester, the Marina offers berths ranging from 30ft to 70 ft. Winter moorings are available from November to February.
See our Mooring RateThe marina boasts fantastic facilities including the Boathouse Café Bar which serves breakfasts, lunches and dining nights such as Fish Friday and Sunday lunch. The chandlery supplies the essentials for boat repairs and maintenance and for bigger jobs, there is a workshop operated by Keel Boat services.
Necessities such as diesel, gas, coal, wood and pump out services are available 7 days a week, ensuring you a pleasant and relaxing stay.
Each of our berths enjoys its own dedicated 16amp electricity supply, which can be topped up at the marina office. Water points are shared between two moorings.
If you love Tattenhall Marina as much as we think you will, you can choose to become an annual moorer where you will be able to take advantage of the added benefit of our Syndicate Mooring Agreement. This means you can enjoy visitor mooring across the Lakeland Leisure Estates family of marinas* entirely free of charge.
While some boaters enjoy exploring the waterways all year round, the cold unpredictable weather and dark long nights can bring their own challenges for boats who don’t have a home mooring. Every year around 10% of continuous cruisers decide they want to moor their boats in one place for the season and choose to take a winter mooring.
Tattenhall marina is a great place to moor with stunning scenery end superb services however, should you wish to venture further, you can immerse yourself in a plethora of nearby cruising routes including the Llangollen canal and the Cheshire ring, both of which boast beautiful, picturesque countryside.
The Four Counties Ring does exactly what it says on the tin - covering four counties in a ringed cruising route, enabling you to take in a good mix of the north-west countryside including pretty villages and industrial architecture. Cruising for 5 hours a day, the ring can be completed in just over a week, but to make the most of this special route, we recommend a full two-week excursion to really take it all in.
