The Best Canal Holiday Destinations for 2022

Now 2022 is finally here we can all start looking forward to hitting the canals for yet another summer of exploring.

Jumping on a barge and embarking on a journey is one of our favourite things to do, especially when the sun’s out. It allows us to enjoy our boat, see some incredible sights and discover new and exciting locations, all thanks to the simple to navigate canal network, which stretches across the entire country.

So, where should you visit this year?

    Tattenhall Marina 44

Tattenhall Marina is a beautiful marina situated on the Shropshire Union Canal, it’s a great location to visit as it’s within reach of many exciting cities and things to do along the way. It’s also very easy to get to, via boat, or even via road and rail if you’re looking to start your boat journey here!

We’ve even recently launched a number of very unique and exciting floating pods at Tattenhall Marina which make for excellent mini breaks and the perfect chance to get away and escape to somewhere a little different.

    Rmv Marina 1

Roydon Marina Village is situated in the Lee Valley and gives visitors access to a range of canal and river routes. At Roydon Marina village, there’s a wealth of things to see and do, from exploring the local countryside to shopping in the local villages and even enjoying our on-site facilities.

The nearby village of Frampton-on-Severn is less than 5 minutes from the marina and is home to a post office and village shop, doctors and two local pubs. The nearest supermarkets can be found a short drive away in Stroud or Quedgeley.
